P. Tofi’s “Erroneous Encounters” Presented in Limassol and Nicosia

An Experimental Kinesthetic Journey in a Live Composition of Electronic Music and Poetic Speech

The choreographic work “Erroneous Encounters”, directed, choreographed, and written by Cypriot creator, Panagiotis Tofi, will be presented on Wednesday at the Rialto Theater in Limassol, and on Friday and Saturday at the Dendro Theater in Nicosia.

As stated in a Rialto Theater announcement, “Erroneous Encounters” is an experimental kinesthetic journey in a live composition of electronic music and poetic speech. Four performers and a composer share the stage in a negotiation of the post-traumatic as autoimmune, dysfunction, distance, and the multiple symbolisms of the void.

The work is noted to be a continuation of the creator's research path in both kinesiology and composition, focusing on themes of emptiness and concealment, as well as the loss of empathy and autonomy as characteristics of contemporary reality.

The research, direction, choreography, and texts are by Panagiotis Tofi. The performers are Damianos Angelos Efstathiou, Ioannis Mamolis, Nikos Samouridis, and Vasiliki Kypriaiou. Andreas Oikonomides is the musician on stage.

The performances will be held on Wednesday at the Rialto Theater in Limassol, and on Friday and Saturday at the Dendro Theater in Nicosia. All performances start at 20:30.
