Kition Fails to Submit Guarantee; Vafeades to Seek Legal Counsel

Contractual Uncertainty Looms Over €1.2 Billion Larnaca Port and Marina Project

Over a week after the meeting at the Presidential Palace on Monday, April 15, Kition has yet to submit the required guarantee, according to information obtained by Brief.

The company was given an informal deadline to submit the guarantee by Tuesday, April 23, but failed to meet it.

Company representatives had pledged to the President of the Republic that they would fulfill this obligation promptly, but the delay raises concerns about the agreement's stability.

Brief reports that the Minister of Transport, Alexis Vafeades, will consult with the Legal Service to determine how the government should handle the contract with Kition.

It is important to note that, without the guarantee, the agreement is invalid, putting the €1.2 billion investment in Larnaca's port and marina in jeopardy.
